WALK TO KALORAMA AND ADAMS MORGAN, DC
One afternoon, we walked from Dupont to Kalorama, and on to Adams Morgan. On the way there, I was simply astounded at the autumn colors, vibrant and everywhere. One of the things I love most about DC are the tree-lined streets.
Kalorama is a northwest Washington, D.C. neighborhood known for its affluent homes, tree-lined streets, and historic architecture, featuring various early 20th-century styles like colonial revival and Georgian. It has political significance, having housed figures like Woodrow Wilson and Barack Obama. The area is exclusive, with large lots and city views, and includes Kalorama Park for recreation. While primarily residential, it offers a few boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants. Its proximity to Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle enhances its appeal, and public transportation options facilitate commutes to downtown and beyond.
Adams Morgan is a vibrant Washington, D.C. neighborhood known for cultural diversity, eclectic architecture, and a lively atmosphere. Located northwest of downtown, it features a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops reflecting its multicultural heritage. The streets are lined with historic brownstones and unique buildings. Renowned for its nightlife, it attracts locals and visitors with music venues and events. The annual Adams Morgan Day festival showcases the neighborhood's diversity through music, art, and food. Additionally, community organizations work to preserve local character and support businesses, highlighting a strong community spirit. Overall, Adams Morgan is a significant part of D.C.'s urban landscape.
