ST. GALLEN SWITZERLAND 2024

Walking through St. Gallen brings back so many memories from when we grew up in the nearby Rhein Valley. The narrow alleys, the cobble stone streets, a picturesque city with colorful buildings. Make sure to visit the Stiftsbibliothek, youll have to wear big felt shoes over your own shoes, to make sure the floor isn’t damaged.
Absolutely worth a visit!

St. Gallen, a picturesque city in eastern Switzerland, has a population of around 75,000 and is the capital of the canton of St. Gallen. Nestled at the foot of the Appenzell Alps, near Lake Constance, it is famous for its baroque architecture, especially the UNESCO-listed Abbey of St. Gallen, which features an impressive library of ancient manuscripts and stunning frescoes. The city’s textile industry has been crucial to its economy since the Middle Ages, highlighted by the St. Gallen Festival, which celebrates fashion and textiles. St. Gallen is rich in culture with numerous museums, galleries, and festivals, including the popular Christmas Market. Surrounded by nature, it offers hiking, biking, and skiing opportunities, making it a great base for exploring Switzerland while showcasing a mix of history and modern charm.
