What an amazing day trip Jesse and I did, to Murren in the Bernese Alps. It’s a must see, and I will definitely be back again.
The feeling of peacefulness is almost unparalleled when taking in the view of these mountains.
Murren is a picturesque village in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland, situated at 1,638 meters (5,374 feet) in the Alps. It offers stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau and is primarily car-free, enhancing its charm. Visitors can ski and snowboard in winter at nearby areas like Schilthorn, which features the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria. In summer, hiking trails cater to all skill levels through meadows and alpine scenery. Murren boasts traditional Swiss chalets and a rich history dating back to the 12th century, preserved through local festivals. Access is via funicular and cable car, making the scenic journey part of the experience. As part of the Jungfrau Region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Murren attracts both adventure seekers and those wanting to relax in a beautiful alpine setting.
