THUN, SWITZERLAND 2024
A short train ride away from Bern, Thun is a beautiful small city. I’ve been a few times, and I wanted to show Jesse around a bit. It was a really hot day, trust me the heat in Switzerland is a different kind of heat - a heavy heat - and no breeze. We were exhausted by the time we arrived back in Bern.
Thun is a picturesque town in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, where the Aare River meets Lake Thun. With around 45,000 residents, it features a historic old town with narrow streets and medieval architecture. Notable landmarks include the 12th-century Thun Castle, which offers panoramic views and houses a local history museum. The waterfront promenade along Lake Thun is popular for leisure activities, while the stunning lake and Alps attract tourists. Thun hosts various cultural events and boasts galleries, theaters, and music venues. It is well-connected by public transportation, making it easy to reach nearby attractions like Interlaken and the Jungfrau region. Overall, Thun combines scenic beauty, historical significance, and modern conveniences, appealing to travelers seeking an authentic Swiss experience.
