TAUBENLOCH SCHLUCHT (GORGE), SWITZERLAND 2025
WOW, simply wow. I’ve never seen anything quite like this before, and I am truly grateful that my former teacher took the time to recommend this incredible experience to me. Initially, he and his daughter were supposed to join me for this unforgettable adventure, but as we touched base early in the morning, Joanna unfortunately wasn’t feeling well enough to participate. I found myself uncertain about whether I wanted to embark on this journey alone, but in the end, I chose to go for it - and I can honestly say I have ZERO REGRETS!
As recommended by Charles, I made the necessary change of trains in Biel, and after just one short stop farther, which was a quick 6-minute train ride, I arrived at the quaint little station in Frinvillier. From that point, I walked down the hill, and thank goodness the walking trails are SO WELL signposted in Switzerland, making navigation straightforward. I swiftly found my way to the charming Hotel de Gorges, where I was able to enjoy a delicious and refreshing small lunch before embarking on my visit to the stunning Gorge.
By choosing to go to Frinvillier, you will find yourself walking downhill for the entire journey. Additionally, it’s important to note that there are significantly more bus connections available for traveling back to Biel station than there are train connections departing from Frinvillier.
