SCHWARZSEE, Switzerland 2021
There are so many beautiful lakes and mountains in Switzerland. Here we were at the Schwarzsee (black lake), a place my sister and her family are very familiar with, as they used to hike here a lot when their kids were young.
There’s a hike all around the lake, with my cool and fun things for kids to see and find.
I’m so grateful that I have family in Switzerland, and that they know these hidden gems!
Schwarzsee, a mountain lake in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland, sits at 2,618 meters (8,590 feet). Its name means "Black Lake," reflecting its deep, dark waters. Accessible via scenic hiking trails, it offers views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains, drawing tourists and locals for hiking and photography. In summer, the area bursts with wildflowers, while winter invites snowshoeing. A nearby cable car enhances accessibility for exploring the alpine landscape. Wildlife thrives here, appealing to birdwatchers and nature lovers. This serene spot showcases Switzerland's natural beauty, making it a must-visit in the Swiss Alps.
