FORT ROSECRANS NATIONAL CEMETERY
Over the years, I have been drawn back to this cemetery over and over again.
Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California, is a resting place for veterans and their families. Established in 1882 and named after General William Rosecrans, it spans 77 acres with views of the Pacific Ocean. The cemetery is marked by neat rows of over 100,000 gravestones for veterans from significant conflicts, including World Wars and the Vietnam War. It features military memorials and plaques for reflection. Historically significant, it has ties to late 19th-century military activity. Managed by the National Cemetery Administration, it hosts self-guided tours and annual memorial events.
